pretty much any big city will have a vw supply house of some kind. usually they have several bodies and engines laying around. more often than not, they will frankenstein you a car together if you ask them (pay them) nicely enough. dub's are easy to work on, easy to fix up, and more fun to drive than your sister's best friend's mom.
i have a 71 superbeetle, and i enjoy the poop out of it, even though the paint is sunburnt and i have to do a little light work on it periodically. also, i recommend a book like 'how to keep your volkswagen alive'. i bought the book for 20 bucks or so two weeks ago, and have already saved 110 dollars because of it - car wouldn't start, book told me what to do, shop wanted to hit me for 130 for the repair.
great old cars, just make sure yours doesn't leak any antifreeze!!!! (it's air cooled, no radiator. this was intended as a joke)Pick-a-part?
