Is it normal to have a ding underneath of a pick guard where screws goes?

I am not talking about the top part of screws that goes into a hole, but the bottom part of pick guard has another screw that is to adjust the guard. When you take the pick guard off (remove), is it common to have a screw ding made on the body of the guitar? Is it normal to have a ding underneath of a pick guard where screws goes?
Hello there,

It is not normal, no. Is it common. Well if the guitar has a few years on it, it is going to have some dings. Those usually are not under the pickguard. That is unusual.

Hello again,

When buying vintage guitars you should always look under the pickguard to see if everything is original or if there have been modifications or new parts put in there.
