Im in college and am looking for a job back home during the summer to save up for the next semester. However Im tired of cashiering type work and am looking to get into the...world of food service.... lol. Im looking at working at a RedLobster because I hear you can make alot as a waitress if you are good at what you do. I feel like im good with people and I worked customer service in retail and Ive learned not to take things personal. Anybody with waitressing experience out there that can give me some tips? Experiences? Is it hard to learn how to? I know these sound silly but its not exactly your typical 9-5 when you are dealing with customers...Waitressing at RedLobster, Waitressing in general?
i was a waitress for 6 years. when i was younger it was a great job. it didn't interfere with my social life and i made a lot of new friends. the money can be very good, but everyone has their bad days. the constant money did become addicting. there would be days that i was low on cash so i was able to show up and either hope for someone to call in or ask to work for someone that day, and there is always someone willing to go home to let you work. the work schedule is very flexible. Tips: always be nice to the host/hostess/bussers, if you are mean to them they will slam you with lots of tables and that is a very bad thing or they will not help you clean your tables. if you feel you are a "people-person" you probably will do great as a waitress.
