I plugged my cb radio into the wrong voltage?

i plugged my cb radio into the wrong voltage and it wont turn on. its a uniden pc68xl should i send it off for repair? thanks for any help!I plugged my cb radio into the wrong voltage?
oh man! i hope its the fuse. this is a good reason to ALWAYS fuse your radios. i made a mistake a while ago with a $200+ radio. i am happy i put that fuse there. the fuse was DESTROYED worse than ive ever seen. ble w another one by being a complete idiot 2 days ago hooking up red to black and black to red (problem was i didnt use black and red) oh well...

well i hope it was the fuse. Check that, hopefully you had one inline or hope the one inside the radio popped.

CB radios are extreamly sensitive to voltage increases. they should not be volted like amps can be. Its probably the fuse. if not start looking for a new radio. not worth getting repaired.
Pull the cover and trace the input hopefully it was surge protected and fused which can be replaced with the same rated fuse. If not the next component in line probably fried and would need replacing as well as any wire that has a heat blister. The repair may not be the way to go as repair warranty only covers the repairs and the cost of repairs may exceed the cost of good used which when bought from a reputable shop will have a warranty.I plugged my cb radio into the wrong voltage?
Hopefully the fuse took up most the damage. If you let the smoke out the CB, you should send it off for service or take it to a local CB shop to see if they can repair it. It might just be cheaper to buy a new CB.

I want to know how you pulled off this stunt!
should be an inline fuse just replace it, could also be a fuse on the inside for which you will remove the cover look for it around the area where the cord enters the bak of the boxI plugged my cb radio into the wrong voltage?
pull the top of the case off and there should be a fuse inside it, or take it to a CB shop.
