it's called "Ophiuchus" or "Serpentarius" it's a snake basicly. ignore it,there has always been 13 signs, there ar 88 constellations and they always been moving. astrology isnt really real,scientifically atleast. they are 12 signs cause the earth revolves in 360 degrees(it divides evenally) n is in a certain constellation and it's 2100(i think?) years a constellation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aqua鈥?/a> even if it is so, the axis of the earth shouldnt effect ur sign, ur still in the same spot,just perspective of SEEING the constellations have changed.
Ophiuchus is not a new sign per se, so much as it's a constellation that has been recgonized since Ancient Babylonian times which lays along the ecliptic, along with the 12 "true" zodiac constellations.

This isn't really a big deal, since Western astrology has about zilch to do with what is actually happening in the sky. It uses what's referred to as the "tropical zodiac", which is a simplified version which divides the year up into 12 equal signs (note: in reality, the sun spends more time in some constellations than the others) calibrated to the equinoxes, as opposed to the sidereal zodiac which reflects the actual position of the sun relative to constellations. Technically, these discrepancies are nothing new. Astronomers have known about them for millennia, so it's odd and amusing to see astrology buffs in a tizzy over this non-news.

The media is referring to the Sidereal zodiac, which is always changing anyway. But only the Vedic (East Indian) astrologers use this zodiac ... but they've always made the changes as they needed to, so it's not news to them.



Western astrologers don't use the Sidereal zodiac system ... they use the Tropical zodiac system. And there are NO changes to the Tropical zodiac. So it's not news to them.



The only people it seems to be news to are those who know nothing about astrology. That includes astronomers, by the way.
If you believe in the myth of the zodiac, you are then 10 times as worse as those who believe in a mythical god. Science through astronomers has proven there is nothing between where the planets or stars are that effects you, it just makes you look that thick your friends will disown you, do you want to be known as that thick ******. It's not new. It's just a re-calibration of the charts.



Though I do find it funny that astrologers are upset because the correct signs now give "false" readings for people.
