Just as confused as you are =/Can someone explain the new zodiac sign change ?
theres no sign change for us westerners. our astrology chart goes by the seasons, not by constellations. theres a link about it from cbs and cnn here:

It's about the sidereal astrology... not the western/tropical astrology we are used to.
Here's some quotes:
"There is a side to this story that the media has been ignoring, and one terribly important phrase that is missing from this entire debacle that should be on everyone’s tongues, “Sidereal Astrology”.
Believe it or not, folks, the Planetarium Society’s “finding” is not news. In fact, their headline may have been more appropriate around the year 150 BCE before Greek astrologer-mathematician Hipparchus, the discoverer of axial precession, beat them to it.
Ophiuchus – This is the “Thirteenth Sign” of the zodiac you’ve been hearing about. It lies on the ecliptic between Scorpio and Sagittarius. It was purportedly used in ancient Babylonian Astrology (though there exists little factual evidence to support this claim), and is currently only used in some forms of Sidereal Astrology. The Tropical system, as described by Ptolemy, does not include Ophiuchus. In fact, there are many other constellations on the ecliptic that are not included in either Zodiac system, such as Cetus, Sextans, and Hydra.
So what is all this fuss about our Zodiac signs changing, then?"
